The Carbon Challenge

About the Challenge

The Carbon Challenge is a call for people who want to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to a sustainable level and prove that a low carbon life is possible, richer, and more fullfilled. During 2003-2004 the Climate Outreach Information Network worked with members of the Centre for Alternative Technology who are trying to meet the Challenge of reducing their emissions to a sustainable level of two and a half tonnes of Carbon Dioxide per person per year. Their experiences were reported in four articles through 2003 and 2004 in the CAT magazine. Clean Slate.

What is a good personal carbon target

This article argues that we can avoid climate change if everyone in the world keeps within a personal limit of 2.5 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide.

How to measure your carbon impact

This article gives all the information you need to work out the carbon emissions from your home and transport.
