Richard Sexton

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Richard Sexton on 20 September after a short and brave struggle with cancer. Richard was one of the founders and co-executive director of COIN and he remains with us in our hearts and in our minds.

COIN Climate Change Speaker Series

We hear all the time about climate change, but how much do we really know about what it means for our lives? Building on the success of COIN's 2005 Speaker Series, the 2006-2007 series began last month with two top speakers, Eco-lawyer Maria Adebowale, Director of the Environmental Law Foundation and Andrew Simms, Policy Director and head of the Climate Change programme at the New Economics Foundation.

The next event will be on Thursday June 22, featuring Ruth Bond, a trustee of the Women's Institute board member of Stop Climate Chaos, and Good Energy's Chief Executive, Juliet Davenport. The title of the event is "Women and climate change: is the female of the species more deadly than the male?"

COIN, in partnership with journalist Phil England, brings you Climate Radio – the best informed and challenging views on climate change. Pertinent, accessible and authoritative, these shows go beyond the platitudes and confusion that dominates mainstream debate. All the features on Climate Radio were first broadcast on Resonance FM.

COIN Action Groups

COIN Climate Action Groups

On January 26th COIN held the inaugural meeting for its new Action Group programme. The Action Groups form around topics and themes chosen by the participants. Four new groups formed at the meeting- focusing on lifestyle change, carbon rationing, local policy change, and despair and empowerment.

Perspectives on Climate Change

COIN has launched a new resource called Perspectives on Climate Change. Perspectives gathers together the views and advice of leading academics, thinkers, politicians and environmental activists on how we can stop climate change and create the shift in society necessary for an environmentally sustainable future.

Perspectives are now available from Michael Meacher M.P., Joanna Macy, Ph.D., George Monbiot, George Marshall, and Caroline Lucas, MEP.
