How To Do It: The Ecovation Open Day Pack

An Ecovation Open Day is where householders in a local area open up their homes to members of the public to show what they have done to eco-renovate their homes.

COIN, in partnership with the Oxford based low carbon organisation Climate X has organised a number of annual Ecovation Open Day events in Oxford in September.  In 2008, we put together a "How To Do It" pack to help other organisations/ groups to organise their own Ecovation Open Day in their local area.

Yellow House CD

What is the Yellow House CD?

The Yellow House CD tells the story of how COIN's George Marshall and his wife Annie turned their 1930s ex-council house into an environmental dream home.

"We wanted to reduce our energy consumption by two thirds and renovate our home using sustainable materials, but without losing comfort or style".

The CD includes a full photo gallery, four video tours of the main features of the house, two videos about climate change, seven new articles on eco-renovation and low carbon lifestyles.
