Job Description
Responsible to: Executive Director
Staff reporting: Interns, volunteers and other project staff
Key Responsibilities:
• To actively develop ideas for new projects relating to training and contribute where necessary to other COIN projects in either a project management or project worker role;
• To set strategy for the continuation and development of the COIN training programme;
• To set the future direction of the training programme, including fundraising and identifying potential partners;
• To manage and evaluate all partners/facilitators/co-organisers with whom s/he is working;
• To manage all staff and volunteers associated with the training programme;
• To report back to the Executive Director and Trustees as required;
• To monitor and evaluate events/training and to use such feedback to update and improve the training programme and associated materials;
• To publicise and market the training programme in order to maximise the number of people attending;
• To manage the training programme budget and to ensure adequate control over project spending - this will include monitoring and evaluating progress of projects/programmes on an ongoing basis;
• To update the information regarding the training programme on the COIN website;
• To contribute to the ongoing COIN funding strategy to include leading on and contributing to funding COIN;
• To undertake their own administration and be expected to contribute to the overall running of the organization;
• Dealing with incoming requests for information and enquiries from interested parties and members of the public.;
• Dealing with room bookings for events and other administrative support for projects;
• Contributing where necessary to the overall running of the COIN office including financial management;
• To undertake other relevant tasks associated with the Strategic Plan of COIN;
Person Specification:
Essential
• Enthusiasm for creating and maintaining a training programme;
• Experience of creating, publicising and maintaining a training programme;
• Knowledge of the UK climate movement;
• Experience in campaigning/social change work, whether as a volunteer or paid worker;
• Experience in word processing (including Excel, Word or Open Office) and email;
• Ability to be self-servicing in terms of administration and filing;
• A very good phone manner and aptitude at working with a wide range of partners;
• Proven ability to manage a number of ongoing tasks at the same time (time management);
• Ability to work as part of a small team;
Desirable
• Experience in marketing/advertising;
• Experience in events management;
• Experience in working within the UK climate movement in another role, whether voluntary or waged;
